The Dominican Republic occupies the eastern two
thirds of the Hispaniola Island. It's a land of contrasts with towering
mountains and rocky cliffs, rain forests, fertile valleys, cacti-studded
deserts, 1,288 kilometres of coastline and about 300 kilometres of prime soft
sand beaches, among the most beautiful of the world.

A 20% of the territory is listed as a national park
and Santo Domingo, capital of the New World, is included to the World Heritage
list of the UNESCO since 1990.

The climate is ideal with a winter season from
October to March and temperature around 26°C on average all over the year. The
high tourist season is from December to April and July/August.

The population of Dominican Republic is very young
(50% is less than 20), living mainly in the cities. More than a half of the
population is working. All religions are tolerated but 95% of the population is
catholic.
